A joke on metric spaces

微分方程式の教授が、いつも講義の半分が過ぎたところでジョークを言って
少し休む時間をくれる。
Parallel lines are sad, because they will never meet,
and even make the matter worse, they do not know that.

から始まり、
Some mathematicians pitied that and created a metric space in which parallel lines can meet each other.
Then, one night, the mathematician was dreaming, and found himself in an unusual world where parallel lines meet with each other infinitely many times. He was surprised and asked one of the lines what was happening. Then she replied " Well, it is a "norm" here.″


あとから、数学やってないとさすがに分かんねえよなとか思って変に嬉しいというねｗ
ジョークとか普段あんまり分からないから、尚更ｗ

オックスフォード二年目

気付けば早いもので、オックスフォードに帰ってきてからもうひと月が過ぎてました。

二年目は、カレッジ外に家を借りて住んでいるので、かなり勝手が違います。
ごみ捨てとかトイレットペーパーの入れ替えとか、些細なことが億劫で、
つい後回しにしてしまう笑

しかし、自由に使えるキッチン、講義室まで歩いて2分という好立地など
概ね今の場所での生活には満足しています。

特に、キッチンを使えるようになって、毎日米に日本食を食べれて、楽しい日々。
自炊万歳ｗ

イギリスは、中華系スーパーがたくさんあるし、普通のスーパーにもアジア系の調味料や
食材のコーナーがあったりするので、大抵のものが揃うというありがたい環境で、冬瓜とかエノキとかも食べたりしています笑

It is always surprising how fast time flies when I am in Oxford. One month has already passed since I came back here.

Unlike the first year, I have to live in private accommodation now, in which small things, such as changing toilet papers, taking out trashes... are very bothering.

However, two changes have improved my life so much better. Firstly, the fact that I can use the kitchen whenever I want (last year I couldn't because of dirty dishes left in the sink by someone), and
secondly the house is really well-located in a sense that I only have to walk for two minutes to reach the mathematical department is great (limited vocabulary lol)

In fact, eating rice with some Japanese style side dishes makes my life much nicer and satisfying! Love self-cooking!
The problem of cooking by myself is that it takes time and energy because I have to go shopping, cook, keep the kitchen tidy and so on... But, those issues are really trivial compared to the merits of eating something familiar every night.
