log normal な現象について

logを取った変数が、正規分布に従うものの分布のことをlog normal Distributionと呼ぶ。

オンライン広告の仕組みである、RTBの落札額の分布を調べたときに現れてきた分布だ。

wikipediaを見ただけでもいろいろな発見があった。

1 logを取った平均と分散を与えられたときに、エントロピーが最大となるような分布であること。

2　割合に基づく変化を蓄積する過程は、log normalを示すものが多い。(additive in log scale, then CLT (kind of make sense))

3 人間の行動なども、往々にしてこの分布に従う。（オンラインのコメントの長さ、チェスの試合時間etc）(https://arxiv.org/abs/1809.01365)
